The Ripcord bar is a gay bar located in Toledo, Ohio. It is located at 115 N. Erie Street and the phone number is 419-243-3412. There is no cover charge but you must be 21 and over to enter and have a proper ID.

They have fun events all the time. Featuring drag shows, karaoke and gay male strippers. (There may be a cover charge for these special events so be sure to call ahead.) Every Saturday they have gay male strippers from 6 to 9pm.

Our review of Ripcord Bar

Honestly, this is not a clean bar. We checked it out a few nights wondering if it would be different than the first time we were there, but other than the male strippers on Saturday night, there isn’t too much that is exciting about this place.

Toledo has a law about not smoking, but they must not be enforcing it. The Ripcord smelled like smoke and when we left, we all smelt like an ashtray.

It’s definitely a rough crowd inside with some heavy drinkers. It’s guys like this that gives gays a bad name. Looks like Toledo’s gays are some of the crudest around. Of course our Miami perspective might have gave us a bias that doesn’t work when evaluating Mid-West gay bars.

I did have a nice conversation with a normal person (What’s normal these days!) and the conversation we had mostly centered around how bad the place was and that there were only a few gay bars in Toledo. He did recommend that we visit Bretz but warned me not to get my hopes up. We chatted it up a bit, exchanged emails and I told him to look me up if he is ever in Miami.
